As an Information Technology (IT) Internal Auditor you will contribute to the evaluation of risks and controls across technology, information security, data, and system‑enabled business processes. The role provides independent and objective assurance that adds value and improves the organisation’s control environment. You will support the achievement of business objectives by evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal control processes in line with Internal Audit methodology and professional standards.
Location
This role can be based in either our London or Guilford offices. It is a hybrid role with an expectation of 40% of your time in the office.
Salary Information
This role offers a Circa Salary of £58,500 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
You will collaborate with colleagues on internal audit engagements and provide support to activities that keep the Internal Audit function running efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of IT and information security audits, audits of IT and IS governance, technology‑enabled audits, and integrated audits, contributing to drafting and finalising audit outcomes and reports, and following up on recommendations.
- Using data analytics where relevant to support audit work and activities for the internal audit function.
- Working with your audit team to agree objectives and timelines for each audit and regularly monitoring progress.
- Preparing audit files, supporting working papers and draft and final reports within agreed timescales and quality standards with Internal Audit Management.
- Working with your audit team to deliver and communicate audit results and develop practical recommendations that address root causes and mitigate risks.
- Contributing to the development, innovation and growth of our internal audit strategy and support on functional development activities.
Essential Skills
- Relevant experience in IT internal audit, 2nd line assurance or general insurance business operations, including awareness of existing and emerging technology, cyber, and information security risks.
- Baseline knowledge or familiarity across IT risks, information security, cyber risk, IT service management, system development practices, IT general controls, application controls, and data concepts.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team to deliver audits and non‑audit activities within agreed timelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at different levels.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word, with a working knowledge of data analytics techniques.
Desirable Skills
- Progress toward, or completion of, a relevant professional qualification is desirable.
- Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage.
