We are representing a leading, high-growth FMCG business that is looking to appoint a Commercial Manager to play a pivotal role within its expanding commercial function.

This position is designed for a tenacious, entrepreneurial “hunter-gatherer” who can successfully balance new business development with the commercial discipline of pricing, margin optimisation, and P&L ownership across a commodity-driven product portfolio.

The role offers strong exposure, autonomy, and the opportunity to directly influence growth strategy across multiple channels within a business known for developing its employees for long-term success. The Role

This is a broad, high-impact commercial position with three key focus areas:

  • Driving Growth: Proactively identify and win new business across retail, wholesale, and B2B channels- building pipelines, opening doors, and converting opportunities into long-term partnerships

  • Commercial Ownership: Take full responsibility for pricing strategy, margin performance, and P&L management- ensuring competitiveness while protecting profitability in a cost-sensitive, commodity-led environment

  • Strategic Development: Lead commercial projects such as new product launches, entering new market segments, and refining pricing frameworks, while identifying opportunities to revitalise underperforming product lines

You’ll also work closely with cross-functional teams across Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations, translating commodity movements, input costs, and market dynamics into clear, commercially sound decisions.

About You

  • Proven experience in a Commercial, Business Development, or Account Management role within food, or a related sector in FMCG
  • Strong track record of winning new business and developing strategic customer relationships
  • Experience managing pricing, margin optimisation, and P&L ownership, ideally within low-margin or high-volume product categories
  • Commercially astute with strong numerical and analytical capability
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and entrepreneurial, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities
  • A confident relationship builder, capable of securing and growing high-value partnerships over time
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Package & Details

  • Competitive salary – 25% bonus + car allowance + private healthcare
  • Remote role with flexibility, plus occasional travel to South-based UK office
  • Approx. 1 day per week on the road meeting customers and developing opportunities
