Applications are invited for Clinical Fellow in Renal Cancer to work within the Academic Oncology Department at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The 12‑month post combines 6 months as a renal research fellow focusing on renal trial recruitment (and supporting oncology outpatient clinics) and 6 months as a Clinical Fellow covering oncology and palliative care inpatients. It will give the successful candidate a wide range of oncology experience, enhancing a future application for higher medical training.

Two posts are available: one starting August 2026 and one starting October 2026. Both posts are based at the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead, London, on a full‑time basis.

Renal Fellow (6 months – no on‑call commitment)

This established post takes a leading role in the Renal Cancer group, working closely with the oncology, immunology and urology teams. Responsibilities include patient care and recruitment into clinical trials. The appointee will help build a world‑class clinical and academic renal cancer service, develop clinical and academic skills, and gain exposure to radiation therapies, including renal SABR. The role also involves developing a robust renal cancer patient database for research purposes.

Clinical Fellow (6 months – with on‑call supplement)

During the 6‑month rotation the post holder will join a ward team of 2 FY1s, 1 IMT1/2, a SpR, an oncology consultant and a physician’s assistant. xwzovoh Duties involve daily inpatient care on a dedicated oncology ward, liaising with palliative care and the wider multidisciplinary team, coordinating ward‑based undergraduate teaching for MBBS students with the Teaching Fellow, and organising postgraduate teaching for the ward teams.
