Job Overview

The Managing Director of a successful commercial printing house in Scotland is retiring. We are seeking an ambitious individual to head our sales team, bring in new business, and eventually move into a Managing Director role within the next couple of years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the sales department and develop and implement sales strategies.
• Gather performance data and create reports for senior management and shareholders.
• Analyze market trends, forecast sales, and identify growth opportunities.
• Review sales processes, systems, and performance management criteria to continually improve the team.
• Build deep‑rooted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, and partners.
• Maintain a clear view of profit and loss, providing business direction for the sales team.

Qualifications

• Currently in the printing industry or have worked in the sector within the last two years.
• Proven record of building and managing high‑performing sales teams.
• Strong business acumen with excellent communication, motivation, and persuasion skills.
• Number‑oriented with strong mathematical skills and business sense.
• Strategic and analytical mindset capable of monitoring market shifts and avoiding stagnation.
• Experience in packaging, printing, or paper sectors is required.
