Vigilance Collaborations Specialist

Full‑time, permanent role based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU.

Senior position within the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), part of the Safety & Surveillance Group. The role carries responsibility for the development, delivery and continuous improvement of the MHRA vigilance system, overseeing key projects, system enhancements, and strategic stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and enhancement of Yellow Card systems, including API integration, to ensure continuous improvement and that all required data fields and standards are met for the Patient Safety Monitoring Function.
  • Deliver key projects related to the vigilance system, including grant‑funded initiatives and the application of AI technologies for coding incident reports and signal detection.
  • Lead interactions with suppliers and internal agency stakeholders to optimise vigilance system enhancements, fostering cross‑functional collaboration and gathering wider input where necessary.
  • Represent the Agency at external vigilance networks and events, ensuring front‑end Yellow Card systems reflect stakeholder feedback.
  • Lead collaborations with external partners on vigilance projects, seeking opportunities for improvement in processes and systems and measuring benefits and efficiencies.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience leading projects that demonstrate efficient and effective organisation and delivery skills.
  • Significant experience managing and analysing large quantities of adverse incident data for evaluation and reporting, providing insights on complex technical matters.
  • Experience working directly with external stakeholders, including system suppliers.
  • Detailed knowledge of the data standards, taxonomies and systems involved in reporting and managing adverse incidents and signal management, and the ability to share knowledge externally.
  • Ability to influence and motivate internal and external colleagues to build a strong network for achieving objectives.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., pharmacy, science, medical engineering, medical physics, biomaterials, or healthcare professional qualification) or comparable work experience.
