Are you a Registered Nurse with a passion for clinical excellence and the confidence to inspire others? We are looking for a strong Clinical Lead to support high standards of care, guide the nursing team, and help shape the clinical direction of our home.

This is more than managing shifts. You will be a visible clinical role model, supporting nurses and care staff to deliver safe, effective, person‑centred care. You will help drive quality through audits, clinical supervision, care planning, medication oversight, safeguarding, and continuous improvement.

You will work closely with the senior management team to maintain CQC standards, support governance, manage clinical risks, and ensure residents receive dignified, compassionate care every day.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A qualified Registered Nurse with an active NMC PIN.
  • Confident with CQC standards, DoLS, MCA and safeguarding.
  • Experienced in leading, mentoring or supervising clinical teams.
  • Able to use digital care systems and maintain accurate records.
  • Calm under pressure, organised, and committed to high standards.
  • Compassionate, professional, and genuinely resident‑focused.

Main duties of the job

Are you a Registered Nurse with the confidence, compassion and clinical knowledge to lead from the front? We are looking for a Clinical Lead to support nursing and care teams, drive standards, and shape safe, effective, person‑centred care.

This is a key leadership role within the home. You will provide visible clinical support, role‑model professional standards, and ensure care is delivered in line with CQC standards, HMT policies, the MAGIC Model and Clinical Practice Framework.

You will oversee medication management, infection prevention and control, audits, governance, incident reporting, complaints, risk management and quality improvement. You will also support pre‑admission assessments, care reviews, MCA, best‑interest decisions and DoLS, ensuring residents receive care that promotes dignity, choice and independence.

As a leader, you will supervise, coach and develop nursing and care staff, complete competency assessments, support probation and supervision, and encourage development. You will work closely with the Home Manager, therapists, MDT professionals and senior team to improve clinical outcomes and resident experience.

Job responsibilities

Under the direction of the Area Manager you will lead and support the nursing and care team to deliver high standards of clinical care. You will promote dignity, independence, rehabilitation and personal choice.

You will provide clinical leadership aligned with the Clinical Practice Framework ensuring safe, effective, responsive and well‑led care. You will support daily operations, compliance, quality improvement and continuous development of staff. You will take responsibility for the home in the absence of the Area Manager, participate in on‑call arrangements and support hands‑on care when required.

  • Operational management: Provide leadership to ensure high standards of care in line with CQC standards, support partnerships with external teams, oversee medication management, infection control, audits and quality improvement, support governance, risk management and emergency planning.
  • Line management: Supervise, support and develop staff; complete competency assessments and support probation; encourage learning, development and performance improvement.
  • Resident and clinical care: Ensure safe, effective and person‑centred care; support assessments, reviews and care planning; promote dignity, independence and wellbeing; support safeguarding and risk management.
  • Clinical leadership: Lead audits, training and development; support dementia care and rehabilitation; act as a role model and mentor; maintain professional standards and ongoing development.

Qualifications and experience

  • Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, mental capacity and CQC standards.
  • Ability to analyse information and support improvement.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience in a care setting with complex care needs, including dementia care.

  • Qualified Registered Nurse and NMC registration.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to learning.
  • Full understanding of relevant legislation, e.g., Health and Social Care Act, CQC regulations, safeguarding and GDPR.
  • Qualification in Leadership (essential).
