Electrical Technician – Power Station

SCINERGY Recruitment are looking for an Electrical Technician to join the maintenance team of an energy-from-waste power station in Exeter. The role focuses on delivering safe, reliable electrical maintenance across the plant, supporting availability, efficiency and long-term asset performance. The successful candidate will work closely with operations and engineering teams to ensure all electrical equipment is maintained to a high standard.

Responsibilities

  • Planned and reactive electrical maintenance on LV/HV systems, motors, drives, switchgear, conveyors and more
  • Supporting maintenance and improvement projects to enhance plant reliability
  • Carrying out corrective and reactive maintenance activities
  • Completing maintenance activities in line with site procedures, permits and isolation requirements
  • Updating maintenance records and work orders within the CMMS
  • Supporting shutdowns and project work as required
  • Working alongside contractors and equipment vendors
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
  • Assisting with mechanical issues when required

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical / Electrotechnical discipline or equivalent
  • City & Guilds 2382 (17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced heavy process environment – manufacturing, dairy, milling plant, water treatment. Marine Engineers from the Navy are also encouraged to apply
  • Some solid basic mechanical skills
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance planning
  • Understanding of proactive maintenance and condition monitoring
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
