We are delighted to offer a rare opportunity for a Lead Vet to work with the Practice Director to lead our Clinical Team at The Oak Veterinary Group. This is an exciting role for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is ready to combine clinical excellence with strategic clinical leadership, helping to guide the future of a respected and well‑established practice.

You’ll manage a strong clinical caseload (around 75%) with leadership responsibilities, supporting and mentoring a skilled team while helping shape the future direction of the practice. The role offers real scope to influence clinical standards, team development, and overall practice growth in a collaborative and forward‑thinking environment.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the clinical team, working closely with the Practice Director
  • Deliver high standards of clinical care across a varied caseload (consults and surgery)
  • Mentor and develop less experienced vets, supporting case discussions and workups
  • Contribute to driving the practice forward, team engagement, and a positive practice culture
  • Support business performance, operational success, and practice growth

Working Pattern

Full‑time, 37.5 hours per weekShifts between 8:00am‑7:00pm (Monday‑Friday) on a rota basisSaturday mornings (8:30am‑1:30pm) on a rotational basisPrimarily based at Haverfordwest with rotation across branch sites
