Responsibilities
- Lead a Bids & Tenders team responding to over £35 M worth of tenders annually
- Develop and implement strategies, tools and processes to enhance tender preparation, productivity and win rates
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders – Sales, Account Management, Finance, Legal and Compliance teams – to support bid and framework activities
- Act as the primary contact for external framework partners and develop strategic relationships
- Ensure regular review of the Bid Library and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation
- Monitor and ensure all tender and framework responses are completed on time and compliant with internal governance
- Own the administration, configuration and continuous improvement of the Uplands (Qvidian) Bid Management platform – templates, workflow, permissions and governance
- Maintain a high‑quality, searchable content library (answers, case studies, policies, CVs) with version control and review cycles
- Drive user adoption – create guidance, deliver onboarding and training, run quarterly drop‑in sessions and provide day‑to‑day support to stakeholders and the Bids & Tenders team
- Produce and present management information from Qvidian – pipeline, throughput, cycle time and win/loss insights – and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and win‑rate
- Oversee participation in public sector framework agreements, ensuring compliance with contract terms, pricing and reporting and maintaining strong relationships with Framework organisations
- Engage proactively with public sector clients and framework partners to maximise opportunities and ensure renewal of framework agreements
- Align frameworks with business goals and objectives, driving continuous improvement through lessons learned
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar bids/tenders management role with a successful track record of winning bids
- Inspirational leadership skills and experience managing teams through change
- Strong relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Expertise in managing framework agreements with commercial and financial acumen
- Strong business and industry understanding, particularly in public sector sales
- High‑impact verbal and written communication skills and influencing abilities
- Experience with RFP software solutions
- PRINCE2 and/or APMP qualification (or equivalent) is an advantage
