Quality Assurance Technician
Durham | Food Manufacturing £31,000 – £32,000 per annum
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join our Technical team within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining site compliance, product integrity, and BRC accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct sampling and testing of raw materials and finished products in line with site specifications
Perform analytical testing including moisture, salt, pH, and available water
Manage environmental, allergen and potable water verification swabbing, including logging, trending and re-testing of out-of-specification results
Coordinate microbiological, heavy metal, pesticide and mycotoxin testing in accordance with the site testing schedule
Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints using internal procedures and root cause analysis
Manage product holds and ensure timely closure of NCRs
Carry out internal GMP, Hygiene and QMS audits
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with document control procedures
Support BRC accreditation and customer audit requirements
Assist with new product launch documentation and compliance packs
Provide coaching and guidance to production teams on food safety and quality procedures
About You:
Previous QA experience within food manufacturing is essential
Strong understanding of BRC, GMP, HACCP and QMS systems
Experience handling compliance audits and documentation
Confident using testing equipment and interpreting results
Detail-oriented with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Able to manage workload effectively in a busy production environment
