Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Operational Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of biodigester installations and servicing teams.
  • Lead planning, scheduling, and resource allocation across multiple sites.
  • Ensure compliance with Environment Agency regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintain operational KPIs related to time, cost, quality, and safety.

2️⃣ Project Delivery Management

  • Manage projects from inception through commissioning and client handover.
  • Develop cost-effective, technically compliant solutions aligned with client specifications.
  • Monitor budgets and implement Whole Life Cost (WLC) optimisation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate project records and asset documentation.

3️⃣ Technical Oversight

  • Provide technical guidance on wastewater treatment systems, hydraulics, and civil works.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting of operational issues.
  • Ensure systems meet environmental discharge compliance requirements.

4️⃣ Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, regulators, and internal teams.
  • Represent the company in meetings with public bodies and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships.

5️⃣ Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure full adherence to CDM regulations, HSE standards, and site safety requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across operational teams.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance and performance.

6️⃣ Continuous Improvement

  • Identify efficiency opportunities in operational processes.
  • Drive innovation in service delivery and system performance.
  • Support scaling of operational frameworks as the business grows.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a technically strong and operationally focused professional with:

  • Proven experience in water/wastewater engineering, civil engineering, or utilities sector.
  • Strong background in project management and site-based operations.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, clean water distribution, or wastewater systems.
  • Experience in regulatory compliance and risk management.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications (Desirable)

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • APM / Project Management qualification.
  • SMSTS or equivalent site management certification.
  • CSCS card.
  • Full UK driving licence.
