Senior Internal Auditor

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Internal Auditor to join a dynamic and evolving internal audit function within a large, international organisation. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of business areas, providing independent assurance and valuable insights that support effective risk management, governance, and control processes.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality audits, influencing stakeholders, and contributing to continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver end-to-end internal audits, from planning through to reporting
• Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance frameworks
• Identify control weaknesses and provide practical, value-adding recommendations
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across various business functions
• Prepare clear, concise audit reports for senior management
• Support the development and execution of the internal audit plan
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the audit function
• Mentor and support junior team members where appropriate

About You

• Proven experience in internal audit, external audit, or risk assurance
• Professionally qualified or working towards a qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of risk and internal control frameworks
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
• Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities
• High level of integrity and professional judgement
• Experience within a large, complex, or international organisation
• Exposure to operational, financial, and/or compliance audits
• Familiarity with data analytics tools or audit software
• Experience working in regulated environments
