ST TALENT are recruiting for a Warehouse Operative (Progression to Team Leader) on behalf of an established business based in Wetherby.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Operative or Warehouse Supervisor looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will initially join the business as a Warehouse Operative, with the opportunity to progress into a Warehouse Team Leader position within 3-6 months, subject to performance and suitability.
Working within a busy warehouse environment, you'll play a hands-on role in the day-to-day operation whilst gradually taking on additional responsibilities to support the Operations Manager and wider warehouse team.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations:
- Picking and packing customer orders
- Processing returns and goods-in deliveries
- Put-aways and stock replenishment
- Stock counting and inventory checks
- Manufacturing and assembly of merchandising displays
- Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, organisation and safety standards
- Supporting general warehouse duties as required
Team Leader Responsibilities:
- Supporting the coordination of daily warehouse activities
- Assisting with the allocation of workloads across the team
- Helping to ensure all orders are dispatched accurately and on time
- Monitoring productivity and operational standards
- Supporting and motivating team members
- Reporting operational issues and performance concerns to the Operations Manager
- Contributing to a positive, efficient and organised warehouse environment
About You
- Previous warehouse experience is essential
- Previous Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader or Lead Operative experience would be highly advantageous
- Valid FLT Licence preferred
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties, including lifting products up to 25kg
- Able to remain on your feet for extended periods throughout the working day
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Good attention to detail
- Basic IT skills and confidence using warehouse systems
- Own transport is essential due to the location of the site
- Open-minded approach and willingness to work within established processes and management structures
