About the people and their home

The people we support enjoy a wide variety of activities, each tailored to their individual interests and evolving personal goals. Ten people call Wembdon Rise home, all with unique preferences and interests—from attending college courses and local social clubs to developing friendships and community connections. Many enjoy staying active through walking, exploring, gym sessions, swimming, or bike riding. Others love days out, visiting places such as aquariums, theme parks, museums and more.

Support also includes everyday practical tasks like weekly food and household shopping, choosing new games or visiting shops, and building independence in daily living skills such as washing, cleaning and organising their home environment. Many people also enjoy high‑energy activities including singing, dancing, storytelling and interactive, verbal engagement. This variety reflects the vibrant and person‑centred nature of daily life.

As a Support Worker, you will contribute by ensuring your approach is consistently person‑centred, patient, kind and compassionate. Understanding everyone’s communication needs is key to helping them express choice and achieve independence. You will work both independently and collaboratively with the wider team, supporting people to meet both their day‑to‑day goals and longer‑term aspirations.
