Physical & Learning Disabilities Home | Day Shifts | Full Time | £12.50 per hour

We are recruiting dedicated and compassionate Children’s Residential Support Workers to join a specialist residential home supporting young people aged 7–15.

This home supports children with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and complex additional needs. The role focuses on delivering consistent, high-quality, person-centred care throughout the day, helping young people thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.

About the Role

  • Day shifts: 07:00am – 10:00pm
  • Full-time position: 3–4 shifts per week
  • Supporting children with physical and/or learning disabilities through daily routines
  • Assisting young people with personal care, getting up in the morning, meals, activities and daily life skills

This is a hands-on, practical role requiring patience, empathy and a structured approach to supporting young people’s daily needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting children to get up and ready in the morning
  • Supporting personal care, including: Toileting support (including pad/nappy changing and continence care), bathing/showering assistance, dressing and undressing, general hygiene support
  • Administering medication (following training and protocols)
  • Supporting mobility and moving/handling needs
  • Planning and facilitating engaging daytime activities
  • Maintaining a calm, structured, and safe environment
  • Completing accurate records and handovers

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 22 years old
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in residential care
  • Experience supporting children with physical or learning disabilities (desirable)
  • Full UK manual driving licence (essential)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one – we can process this)
  • Ability to work independently and remain calm in a care setting
