We are supporting a leading global insurance organisation in the appointment of a Senior Internal Auditor to join its established Internal Audit function. The successful candidate will support the delivery of internal audits and advisory reviews across key areas of the organisation, including underwriting, claims, operations, and finance. Working as part of a high-performing audit team, you will contribute to the full audit lifecycle – from planning and risk assessment through to fieldwork and reporting.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the planning and execution of risk-based internal audits
- Conducting walkthroughs, developing audit programmes, and performing control testing
- Identifying control deficiencies and assessing their potential risk impact
- Drafting clear and concise audit findings and reports
- Engaging with stakeholders across the business to discuss audit observations and recommendations
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the Internal Audit function
Candidate Profile
- 3+ years’ experience in internal or external audit, ideally within the insurance sector or with exposure to insurance clients
- Good understanding of internal audit methodology, risk assessment, and control frameworks
- Familiarity with insurance processes such as underwriting, claims, and operational functions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Degree educated; professional qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, or CIA are advantageous but not essential
- Experience using data analytics or visualisation tools in the audit process would be beneficial
