Architectural Technician – Hampshire | £32,000-£38,000

  • Multi-disciplinary practice (engineering, architecture and planning under one roof).
  • Real project ownership from concept to site.
  • Strong mix of domestic, commercial and heritage work.
  • Small, established team of around ten people.

We're recruiting for a long-established multi-disciplinary practice in Hampshire. Structural engineers, civil engineers, architectural technologists, planners and surveyors, all sat in the same office. As an Architectural Technician here, that means rare exposure for a small-practice tech. You'd see how a sketch becomes a planning submission becomes a Building Regs package becomes a site.

The work mix is broad. Domestic extensions and new builds, listed and period cottages, commercial schemes including hotel work, agricultural and industrial bits when they come up. The practice has a real heritage and conservation specialism led from the top, so plenty for anyone interested in that side.

Here's what you'd get from the role:

  • Project visibility most small-practice techs don't get, from initial drawings through planning, Building Regs and out onto site.
  • Day-to-day work alongside structural and civil engineers, useful learning that doesn't usually happen in a pure architectural team.
  • A varied portfolio across sectors, no risk of getting boxed into one project type.
  • A close-knit team that takes the work seriously without taking itself too seriously. Paid overtime, performance bonus, generous mileage if you're driving to site.

You'll be a good fit if you:

  • Have 2 to 6 years' UK experience as an Architectural Technician.
  • Can run a package independently and coordinate with engineers and consultants.
  • Are comfortable with planning applications, Building Regs and consents.
  • Want depth across project stages rather than siloed detailing.
