Salary: £35,000 DOE plus 20% shift allowance


We’re looking for a multi-skilled Data Centre Engineer to join a leading organisation in Hertfordshire, working within a small team supporting a prestigious international financial client.


This company is an experienced technology integrator providing end-to-end connectivity and managed services across data centres, offices, and critical environments. Its solutions include structured cabling, smart systems, and IT services, all delivered with a focus on quality, innovation, and sustainability to help organisations enhance infrastructure and digital transformation


Responsibilities include:

  • Managing change control, incidents, and asset tracking
  • Supervising and escorting third-party vendors
  • Planning and carrying out IT hardware installations to strict Data Centre standards
  • Decommissioning network hardware and cabling
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and inventories
  • Completing service requests within agreed SLAs
  • Ensuring compliance with company, client, and manufacturer standards, health & safety, and security protocols


Task description:

  • Maintaining data centre management toolsets
  • Providing governance and day-to-day management of the data centre
  • Coordinating with facilities teams to improve energy efficiency
  • Supporting daily operations: installs, changes, decommissions, maintenance
  • Contributing to service improvement and major infrastructure projects
  • Basic server configuration (IDRAC, ILO)
  • Fault finding, escalation, racking, stacking, patching, moves, and changes
  • Managing complex cabling infrastructure for stable IT and desktop connectivity


What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in high-risk environments and data centres
  • Knowledge of DCIM tools and standards (desirable)
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive approach, and ability to work under pressure
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure technologies and networking
  • Competence in MS Office and helpdesk/service delivery tools
  • Reliable team player able to work independently and flexibly
