Looking for more than just another ticket? Build technology that combats homelessness, domestic abuse, and mental health inequality.
I'm partnering exclusively with a leading Tech for Good organization that builds the technical infrastructure used by government bodies and local authorities to tackle the UK’s most complex social challenges. They are seeking a Senior/Principal Software Engineer to help them tackle a major two-year project, directly impacting how support is delivered to marginalised groups nationwide.
- Remote First – in the London office once a month.
- Salary: Up to £90,000 (2-year FTC with a very high likelihood of extension or moving to permanent).
The Challenge
This isn’t a "standard" corporate role. You’ll be working in a high‑autonomy environment where ethics and security are at the heart of every line of code.
- Security Mastery: Deep security/DevSecOps experience, specifically implementing and monitoring systems for data breaches and observability.
- AI & Ethics: We need someone comfortable with AI who doesn’t just chase the hype but understands the real possibilities. We’re looking for a candidate with a grounded opinion on integrating AI into workflows, whether you’ve explored this through personal projects, studies, or at work.
- Autonomy & Technical Leadership: comfortable delivering projects independently, troubleshooting, and reviewing/coaching others.
The Tech Stack
- The Core: Strong Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP) background. They primarily use Python/Django, but are happy to cross‑train experts from Java, Ruby, or TypeScript backgrounds.
- Security: Deep experience in DevSecOps (implementing and monitoring systems for data breaches and observability.)
- The Cloud: Deep proficiency in Azure Infrastructure is essential.
- The Workflow: You should be comfortable with high context‑switching and have the ability to manage multiple projects with varying lengths and constraints.
You’re a Senior or Principal Engineer who thrives in a mission‑driven setting. You’re comfortable shifting between high‑level architecture and hands‑on troubleshooting, and you want your work to leave a lasting positive mark on society.
If you are passionate about building technology that changes thousands of lives and want to make a tangible, positive impact on society, please apply—I’d love to speak with you.
