Role Overview

Equans is looking for an IT Portfolio Lead (ERP) to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a full‑time role working 37.5 hours per week. The role can be based anywhere in the UK with travel to an office. On offer is a competitive salary, a company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the successful delivery of the portfolio through the direct portfolio team, service delivery teams and wider technology teams, ensuring projects and products are well planned, communicated and delivered, adhere to governance and are managed financially to realise the business benefits.
  • In conjunction with PMO ensure appropriate assurance is in place and managed for the portfolio. Report on and manage IT finances and resource across the team, manage prioritisation, risks, issues and dependencies, drive decision making, identify and remove obstacles to progress, and resolve any conflicting stakeholder issues.
  • Input and influence the delivery road‑maps through quarterly PI planning, MTP and other regular scheduling activities to ensure that resourcing requirements are understood and met across the wider IT teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior business stakeholders to promote IT’s capabilities, challenges and strategies. Monitor the levels of customer satisfaction with a focus on continuous improvement of portfolio delivery.
  • Inspire and lead the adoption of Agile ways of working to support our agile transformation by demonstrating the value, sharing the vision and influencing others.
  • Provide effective support, coaching, motivation and guidance to the portfolio team to realise potential and develop individuals, as well as preparing and building a high‑performing, multi‑skilled and diverse delivery team to meet future demand.
  • Ensure health and safety and wellbeing of the team, as well as extended teams working within the portfolio, is supported and maintained.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience managing delivery, including full‑life‑cycle testing and complex implementations of multiple projects with technical and business change across H2R, O2C, P2P and R2R processes.
  • Successful leadership and people‑management experience in developing a delivery team.
  • Proven ability to understand and manage business stakeholder relationships, their needs and priorities.
  • Good communication skills across a range of channels and audiences to explain ideas to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strong facilitation techniques to manage stakeholders at all levels in meetings and workshops and ensure follow‑up activity is tracked and completed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to listen, question and interpret stakeholder requirements and build on‑going relationships.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills to progress actions and gain agreement or sign‑off of deliverables.
  • Desirable: experience with tools such as Workfront, MS Project, Jira, Confluence, MS Teams, PowerBI.
  • Desirable: exposure to agile ways of working.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an IT discipline, or equivalent through experience.
  • Project / programme management and Agile qualifications (Prince2, Scrum, Product Owner, Lean, etc.).
  • A technical background is desirable and beneficial to the role.
