Solicitor / CILEX Lawyer – Vehicle Hire Fraud

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer to join a market-leading Fraud team, specialising in Credit Hire Fraud claims. This role offers the chance to work within a highly regarded insurance litigation practice known for its strategic approach to defending complex fraud matters and driving industry change.

Location: Flexible / Hybrid / UK-wide

Salary: Up to £45,000

Team: Vehicle Hire & Fraud

The Role

The team works closely with major insurers, investigators and law enforcement agencies to identify and challenge fraudulent claims. You will handle a varied caseload of litigated matters involving allegations of fraud relating to vehicle hire costs following road traffic accidents.

This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation lawyer looking to develop specialist fraud expertise while working within a supportive, collaborative and high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of litigated claims involving suspected vehicle hire fraud
  • Investigating and defending claims involving phantom hire, exaggerated hire charges, and claims submitted without the policyholder’s knowledge
  • Handling associated personal injury and motor fraud claims including staged, induced and phantom passenger cases
  • Identifying fraud indicators and developing strategic case approaches
  • Delivering clear, commercially focused advice aligned with client anti-fraud strategies
  • Supporting client training, marketing initiatives and knowledge sharing within the team

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX)
  • Experience in litigation, ideally within motor, credit hire or personal injury claims
  • Good working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify fraud indicators
  • Commercially minded with a proactive approach to problem solving
