Energy Projects Lawyer (5+ PQE) | Senior Associate / Legal Director | Leading International Firm | Birmingham / Hybrid Working
Role
As a Senior Associate or Legal Director in the Energy team, you will advise on a broad range of complex and high-value transactions across the energy sector, including renewables, low‑carbon technologies, and traditional utilities. Working on a hybrid basis, you will collaborate with colleagues and clients across multiple jurisdictions, delivering commercially focused legal solutions on cutting‑edge projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of energy and commercial contracts
- Advising on project documentation for renewable, net zero, and low‑carbon energy generation and storage projects
- Providing legal advice on energy law, regulation, and compliance
- Supporting clients on risk management and mitigation strategies within energy projects
- Representing clients in negotiations with project counterparties
- Staying up to date with legislative and regulatory developments in the energy sector
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary and international teams to deliver tailored client solutions
About You
- Be a qualified solicitor with significant experience in commercial contracts
- Have strong drafting and negotiation skills, with experience handling complex transactional matters
- Ideally have experience in, or a strong interest in, the energy sector and related regulatory frameworks
- Be confident advising clients on risk, compliance, and commercial strategy
- Possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly
- Be proactive, collaborative, and keen to contribute to the continued growth of the team
