Applications Engineer – Electrical & High Voltage

SRG are currently recruiting for an Electrical/ Applications Engineer who combines strong technical fundamentals with the confidence to work directly with customers.
This role blends high‑voltage electrical engineering, testing programme design, data analysis and client-facing commercial interaction.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical test programmes for high‑voltage and high‑energy systems
- Support and oversee testing activities within a high‑voltage / high‑energy test environment
- Apply strong mathematical and analytical skills to interpret results and validate electrical performance
- Use spreadsheets extensively for calculations, modelling, analysis and reporting
- Act as a technical point of contact for customers, discussing requirements, applications and testing outcomes
- Provide electrical technical support to clients, helping diagnose issues and recommend suitable solutions
- Work closely with internal commercial and engineering teams, providing technical input and design sign‑off
- Contribute to the development and improvement of electrical designs and testing methodologies.
About you:
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of high‑voltage electrical systems and power engineering principles
- Comfortable with maths-heavy work and data-driven problem solving
- Confident user of spreadsheets for engineering analysis
- Personable and professional, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to clients
- Commercially aware and comfortable balancing customer needs with sound engineering judgement
- Organised, detail-focused and capable of taking ownership of technical work.
