Certain Advantage is hiring for a Software Engineering Manager based in the Farnborough area. This role is on a contract basis and is site-based.

The Company

We're working with a Manufacturing business that operates in the Aerospace sector. They design, manufacture and deliver industry-leading commercial aircraft, and a separate Space and Defence division.

The Role

This role is for a Software Engineering Manager—someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You'll be results-oriented and driven to succeed. You'll be working in a small, experienced, and collaborative team, and be responsible for:

  • Lead the day-to-day activities of the software team
  • Plan, design, develop, verify, and integrate the software for the high-altitude, long-endurance Zephyr aircraft.
  • Act as the technical authority for software, ensuring compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Specification and development of the high-level and low-level software requirements

The Individual

We're looking for people who can show:

  • Educational background up to a Bachelor's degree in Systems, Aerospace, Electronics, Computer Science or related engineering discipline.
  • Work exposure to a senior software engineer, technical lead or similar role leading or mentoring a team of software engineers.
  • Creating safety-critical software in C/C++/Ada or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards, including ARP-4761A, ARP-4754A, DO-178C, DO-254A, DO-248, DO-300 and similar standards.
  • Proficiency with requirements definition, management and verification.
