Mechanical Design Engineer – Rail, Highways & Airport Infrastructure — Up to £90K + Car Allowance. The company deliver major infrastructure projects across Rail, Highways, Airports, and Power Stations, and they're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on a range of projects from design through to installation, testing, and commissioning.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead mechanical design reviews to ensure buildability, safety, and compliance
- Produce and check mechanical designs for tunnel ventilation, HVAC, and pumped systems
- Coordinate with construction teams to resolve technical challenges
- Ensure all systems meet HSE, quality, programme, and regulatory standards
- Support commissioning and testing activities
- Work in a hybrid mix of site-based and design office environments
What you’ll bring
- Qualified Mechanical Engineer
- Mechanical Services Design experience in Rail, Airports, Highways, or Power Stations
- Knowledge of mechanical installation legislation, BIM, and design modelling standards
- Experience with HVAC, fire-rated ductwork, potable water & drainage systems
- SMSTS and/or CSCS card
- Proficiency in MS Office
