About The Role

Join Practice Plus Group as a Consultant Gynaecologist in a flexible, part-time position delivering high-quality outpatient and day-surgery care in Portsmouth. This is a patient-focused role within a supportive multidisciplinary team, helping to develop and enhance gynaecology services and pathways. Please note: the site provides day surgery facilities and there are no RMOs.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Surgical Centre Medical Director, Justin Vale, you will manage and lead a multi-professional team and perform a range of procedures.

  • Providing outpatient assessment and day-surgical care for common gynaecological conditions.
  • Undertaking day‑case procedures such as diagnostic laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, endometrial sampling/ablation, tubal sterilisation and insertion/removal of MIRENAs.
  • Working across theatres (typically 1–2 days/week) and outpatient/administrative/clinical governance duties (typically 1–2 days/week), with job planning agreed locally.
  • Contributing to clinical governance, audit, research and service improvement, and attending monthly departmental meetings as agreed.

What we’ll look for in you

  • UK‑registerable medical degree with MRCOG (or equivalent specialist qualification) and full GMC registration (including specialist registration), with relevant CCT (or equivalent).
  • Strong experience in benign gynaecological practice with excellent clinical judgement and the ability to work independently.
  • Evidence‑based approach, excellent communication, and a collaborative MDT mindset with leadership capability.
  • Commitment to CPD, appraisal/revalidation, audit and clinical governance.
  • Occupational Health clearance and ability to meet Hepatitis B requirements for a designated high‑risk post.
