On behalf of our client based in Ballymena, we are currently recruiting for a HR Officer

You will be responsible for working proactively, providing operational support across a broad generalist HR remit.

Working hours 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday 9am-5pm

Reporting to the Board, the HR Officer will:

  • Support day-to-day HR operations across sites & Head Office
  • Act as first point of Contact providing guidance to line managers and employees in line with HR policies, procedures, and relevant legislation
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from advertising to onboarding.
  • Maintain HR records, including Time & Attendance & HR systems.
  • Support statutory reporting functions such as the Annual Monitoring Return and Article 55 Review.
  • Assist with disciplinary and grievance investigations, hearings and documentation.
  • Undertake absence management reporting and analysis.
  • Produce HR reports and statistics as required.
  • Contribute to the development of training and learning initiatives and broader HR projects.
  • Play a key role in employee communication, engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties that may be required to support the effective running of the HR Department.

Essential Criteria

  • Associate CIPD membership (ideally level 5) or equivalent qualification
  • Experience working in a busy HR function, ideally at HR Officer /Advisor level (minimum 2 years).
  • Strong working knowledge of HR processes, NI employment legislation and best practice.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels
  • Excellent problem- solving skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid UK Driver's license and access to own transport

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous HR experience working within the Construction Industry

The successful candidate must be able to provide documentation to verify their right to work in the UK
