Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated SHEQ Safety Advisor to join their growing team operating across Northern Ireland.


A busy civil engineering contractor employing approximately 80 staff, the company delivering works across public and private sector contracts. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual who can support and improve the companys Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality standards while helping develop and maintain ISO accredited management systems throughout the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a positive health & safety culture across all company operations
  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and compliance checks on live road and
    construction projects
  • Prepare RAMS, safety documentation, toolbox talks, and site reports
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are
    implemented
  • Ensure compliance with all current Northern Ireland health & safety legislation and industry
    standards
  • Assist with implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of ISO management
    systems including:
    - ISO 9001 Quality Management
    - ISO 14001 Environmental Management
    - ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety
  • Support management during external audits and accreditation processes
  • Work closely with operational staff, supervisors, mechanics, and management teams to
    improve compliance and performance
  • Deliver safety briefings and assist with staff training and inductions
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance and documentation


Essential Requirements

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a SHEQ / Health & Safety role within construction & civils
  • Good understanding of ISO standards and compliance systems
  • Strong knowledge of construction health & safety legislation
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and across multiple live sites


Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working within highways or civil engineering sectors
  • Internal Auditor qualification
  • CSCS / CSR card
  • Experience implementing ISO systems throughout a business
  • Temporary Traffic Management awareness
