We're working exclusively with a well-regarded London-based specialty insurance team to find an ambitious underwriter looking to step into a high-ownership role within transactional liability. This is a rare opportunity to join a small, senior team covering W&I insurance for the small to mid-market — where deals are live, the work is varied, and progression is real.
The team focuses on transactions with enterprise values up to £300m, working across a broad range of sectors and jurisdictions. You'll be embedded in the full underwriting cycle from day one — evaluating and quoting risks, managing broker and advisor relationships, and contributing directly to the team's growth strategy. With a lean team structure, there's genuine scope to take ownership early and shape the direction of the practice.
What you'll be doing
- Evaluating, quoting and binding risks from submission through to inception
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, advisors and deal professionals
- Playing an active role in business development and market strategy
- Contributing to product development and underwriting innovation
What they're looking for
- 2–3 years' experience in transactional risk insurance or M&A / corporate finance
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a commercial mindset
- Comfortable managing multiple live matters and working to tight timeframes
- Someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
