Senior Quantity Surveyor / Employers Agent (EA)
Liverpool | Residential Team
Ready to step up — but feel like your career’s standing still?
You know you’re capable of more. More responsibility. More influence. Better projects. Real progression. But if you’re currently feeling overlooked, underutilised, or stuck waiting for the next opportunity to come your way… this could be the move that changes everything.
We’re looking for a Senior QS / Employer’s Agent who’s ready to take ownership, make an impact, and be recognised for the value they bring.
We’re growing our North West Residential team at CPC Project Service and we’re doing it properly. Not just backfilling roles but investing in experienced people who want to step up, take ownership, and be recognised for it.
Why this role, why now?
We’ve seen a major increase in project awards across a number of key residential frameworks, alongside new opportunities coming through our in-house Land & Partnerships team.
In short – we’ve got the work, and we need the right people to lead it!
Based in our prestigious Liverpool office on the Royal Albert Dock, you’ll join a high-performing, close-knit residential team of 20+ professionals spanning our Manchester and Liverpool offices, working on projects that genuinely make a difference across the North West.
We partner with some of the region’s most prominent housing providers, delivering complex residential schemes within social housing — our core market — alongside Build-to-Rent (BTR), extra-care, and supported living developments.
Our live portfolio covers multiple large-scale contracts throughout the region, typically ranging from 100–150 units, with a strong focus on regeneration, affordable housing, and the creation of sustainable, mixed-tenure communities.
What you’ll actually do:
This isn’t a “sit in the background” QS role — you’ll be fully involved from day one, leading developments as Employer’s Agent from inception through to completion and taking full ownership of cost, procurement, and commercial strategy, including (but not limited to):
- Early site due diligence assessment / viability review
- Technical detail review / risk register production
- Pre and post contract programme production (understanding of the key milestones)
- Cost estimate / plan production
- Tender / procurement strategy advice and implementation
- Contract selection advice / final negotiation / production
- Contract administration (JCT suites covering D&B, SBC, Intermediate and MW in addition to Development Agreements)
- Building strong client relationships (and being trusted to do so)
- Driving delivery—on time, on budget, and to a high standard
- Mentoring junior team members and helping to shape the team around you
What we’re looking for:
- Strong experience as a SQS/EA delivering both pre and post contract roles
- A solid background in residential (essential)
- Exposure to social housing, BTR, or similar sectors
- Someone confident, client-facing, and ready to take ownership
- Ideally, experienced in the Northwest market
- Operating above Senior level? We’d still love to talk
Why CPC? (and why people stay)
We’re not your typical consultancy.
- Employee-owned – you share in the success you help create
- Clear progression – not just talked about, actually delivered
- Real impact – your work is visible, valued, and recognised
- Strong pipeline – meaningful projects that improve communities
Our Managing Partner started here in 1993 and worked his way up. That tells you everything about what’s possible here.
With a clear plan to reach £100m by 2033, this is a company firmly on an exciting growth journey!
What’s in it for you:
- Bonus scheme
- Private healthcare cover (including dental and optical) for you and your family
- Travel insurance, including winter sports
- Private pension scheme
- Hybrid and flexible working to support your lifestyle
- Full support with professional memberships and ongoing development
Diversity, Inclusion and Opportunities:
CPC is an equal opportunities and Disability Confident employer. We welcome applications from disabled individuals and are committed to providing opportunities for career development in an inclusive environment.
Polite notice to recruitment agencies:
We are not seeking external recruitment support at this time. Please note that speculative CVs will not be accepted and will not be considered a valid introduction.
Ready to take the next step?
