Position Overview:

As the Housing Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the Trust while upholding its core values. Reporting to the Chief Executive and Finance Officer, you will manage frontline staff and be a key player in housing management issues. This is a senior role that requires a commitment of at least 35 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend commitments for resident and board events.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion the Trust's core values and promote a culture of equality and diversity.
  • Deliver customer-focused resident services that lead the industry.
  • Jointly manage administrative staff, focusing on performance management, training, and staff development.
  • Oversee essential housing management functions, including:


- Estate services

- Maintenance services

- Tenancy management

- Voids and lettings management

- Anti-social behaviour management

- Health & safety compliance

- Management services for external landlords


Specific Responsibilities:


Staff Management

  • Ensure adequate office coverage, prioritising staff safety.
  • Supervise frontline staff to ensure balanced workloads and professional service.
  • Train and develop staff on housing management topics.
  • Handle grievances and disciplinary matters under the Chief Executive's guidance.


Housing Management Policy & Service Delivery

  • Regularly review and update housing policies to align with best practices.
  • Engage with stakeholders and residents for policy changes and updates.
  • Deliver performance against annual targets, managing rent arrears and complaints efficiently.


Maintenance Services:

  • Manage partnerships with contractors and oversee maintenance budgets.
  • Report performance metrics to the Chief Executive and Board, ensuring high-quality service delivery.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in housing management or a related field.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and deliver results.
  • A commitment to customer service excellence and community engagement.
