Director of Product (E-commerce) – 12 Month FTC

Location: London (Hybrid – 1–2 days per week in office)

About the Role

We’re partnering with a high-growth, customer-centric digital business undergoing a significant period of transformation to find an experienced Director of Product (E-commerce).

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract at Director level, stepping into a critical leadership position with responsibility for driving both short-term commercial performance and long-term product strategy across a large-scale B2C platform serving millions of users.

You’ll play a pivotal role during a time of strategic evolution and AI-driven transformation, working closely with senior leadership to shape the future direction of the product function and broader business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining and owning the product vision and strategy across core e-commerce experiences
  • Driving measurable commercial outcomes (conversion, retention, revenue, frequency)
  • Leading and developing a team of Product Leaders and Managers, maintaining a high bar for impact
  • Navigating and influencing senior stakeholders across commercial, marketing, and executive teams
  • Balancing long-term product investment with short-term trading performance
  • Embedding a culture of experimentation, pace, and accountability

What We’re Looking For (Non-Negotiable)

  • Proven Director-level product experience (not a step-up role)
  • Strong background in B2C environments
  • Deep experience within e-commerce platforms at scale
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at a strategic leadership level
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills

About You

You’re a commercially-minded product leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-impact environments. You’re equally comfortable shaping strategy at the top table and diving into the detail when needed.

You’ll likely bring:

  • A strong track record of delivering growth and revenue impact
  • Experience leading multi-team, multi-market product organisations
  • Confidence making decisions with ambiguity and owning outcomes
  • A passion for building high-performing product cultures
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for AI, experimentation, and innovation

Why This Role?

  • Opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role with immediate influence
  • Shape product direction during a transformational period under new leadership
  • Work within a collaborative, modern product environment
  • Exposure to AI-led innovation and evolving product strategy

Additional Details

  • Start Date: Ideally June-July
  • Contract: 12-month fixed-term
