We’re looking for a compassionate and proactive Safe Communities Officer to help create safer, more supportive neighbourhoods. You’ll take a swift, victim‑centred approach to reports of anti‑social behaviour (ASB) and hate crime, working closely with residents, colleagues and partner agencies to reduce harm and deliver lasting solutions.

Managing a geographically based caseload, you’ll assess risk and impact, act proportionately, and take ownership of cases through to resolution. Safeguarding sits at the heart of everything you do, and you’ll play a key role in helping individuals and communities feel heard, supported and safe.

Permanent | Full Time | 37 hours per week | Monday to Friday | On the road | Norfolk based

This role will be covering Norfolk with travel to other areas and offices in the Norfolk/Eastern area.

Due to the nature of the role, a company car will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and investigating reports of ASB and hate crime, taking timely and proportionate action
  • Building strong, empathetic relationships with victims, witnesses and communities
  • Assessing risk and impact, acting quickly to reduce harm, escalation and organisational risk
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams, partner agencies and external stakeholders
  • Preparing legal cases, gathering evidence, drafting paperwork and attending court where required
  • Maintaining responsibility for cases until a full and sustainable resolution is achieved

Skills and Experience

  • A strong understanding of community safety issues, including ASB, hate crime and safeguarding
  • Experience of working with vulnerable individuals and communities
  • The ability to manage a complex caseload with effective prioritisation and sound judgement
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a calm and empathetic approach
  • Strong problem‑solving and risk management skills
  • A full UK driving licence
