This role is responsible for driving Performance Excellence (PE) across the site and forming a key part of the Operations Management team. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of ADM’s Performance Excellence framework, embedding a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency across all functions.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Excellence Leadership
- Lead the deployment of the ADM Performance Excellence strategy using the full toolkit:
- Foundations: Strategic Deployment Framework, Safety, Quality & Environment, Structured Management Systems
- Pillars: Proactive Maintenance, Daily Equipment Care, Focused Improvement, Continuous Colleague Development, Workplace Organisation, Material & Information Flow, Early Equipment Management, New Products & Technologies
- Design and implement the site-wide PE master plan, including foundation and pillar plans
- Train, coach and mentor pillar and foundation leaders, supporting implementation through pilot areas and full-site rollout
- Develop and execute a sustainable strategy across multiple departments, buildings, shifts, and locations (Lopen and Bridgwater)
- Chair the monthly PE Steering Committee
- Act as a change agent, transitioning the site from reactive “break-fix” practices to proactive, data-driven operations
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Kaizen activities to eliminate repeat failures and reduce firefighting
- Embed tools such as 5S, visual management and Gemba walks into daily operations
- Drive measurable improvements in throughput, yield, OEE, waste reduction, and cost of poor quality
- Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities across manufacturing and materials
Operational Excellence & Collaboration
- Support cross-functional collaboration across production, warehousing, laboratory, maintenance and support functions
- Contribute to site-wide improvements in: People (engagement, development, talent management), Safety (culture and compliance), Quality (cGMP/FSA adherence), Delivery (OTIF, reliability, OEE), Cost (efficiency and waste reduction)
- Support Performance Excellence initiatives across other ADM sites, including Denmark
- Facilitate best practice sharing across the ADM network
- Help coordinate and manage the site’s project portfolio (CAPEX, NPD, operations projects, etc.)
Skills & Abilities
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong IT capability and data-driven mindset
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach with a clear “can do” attitude
- Proven ability to lead change and influence at all levels
Education & Experience
- 5–10 years’ experience developing and deploying Performance Excellence strategies within fast-paced manufacturing or packaging environments
- Experience within regulated environments such as GMP, BRC, ISO9001 or similar (preferred)
