The Opportunity: Level Up Your Engineering Career

Have you held your F-Gas for a year or two and feel ready to step away from basic service and into high-level commercial engineering?

On behalf of our client, a respected HVAC-R specialist, we are looking for a Refrigeration Engineer who has the foundational skills but is hungry to master the craft. Our client manages a diverse portfolio across London—including commercial offices, premium retail, and hospitality—and they are looking for someone they can mold into a top-tier Senior Engineer.

This isn't just a job; it's a structured path to becoming one of the best-paid specialists in the city.

What's in it for You?

  • Exceptional Base: A starting salary of £45,000 – £50,000—significantly above the market average for intermediate roles.

  • The "Safety Net": You'll have direct access to a Senior Technical Lead for advice on complex faults. No being "thrown under the bus" on sites you don't understand yet.

  • Advanced Training: Our client will pay for your specialized certifications (e.g., CO2, Hydrocarbons, or Manufacturer-specific training with brands like Foster or Williams).

  • Modern Fleet: A high-spec, air-conditioned van, fuel card, and the latest digital diagnostic tools.

Your Role

  • Progressive Maintenance: Moving from simple PPMs to complex reactive fault-finding on cold rooms, walk-in freezers, and bespoke commercial cooling.

  • Diagnostics: Learning to identify electrical and mechanical failures with precision rather than just swapping parts.

  • F-Gas Management: Taking full ownership of refrigerant tracking and leak testing on modern, high-efficiency systems.

  • Client Interaction: Building your professional reputation by advising site managers on system health and efficiency.

What We Are Looking For

  • F-Gas Category 1 (2079): You must hold this and have used it in a commercial setting for at least 1-2 years.

  • Foundational Knowledge: NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.

  • A "Sponge" Mindset: A genuine desire to learn and take on more technical responsibility.

  • Driving License: Full UK license (maximum 6 points).

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Basic experience with Air Conditioning (Splits/VRF).

  • Experience in the hospitality or retail sectors.
