Responsibilities
- Provide clinical service in Neonatal Medicine.
- Cover labour ward and post‑natal wards.
- Work closely with consultants, other middle and junior grade doctors, and nursing staff.
- Supervise and provide clinical support to a team of Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (ANNPs) and Enhanced Practice nurses across all areas of the neonatal unit.
Shift Pattern
- 1:8 shift‑based rota.
- Standard day shift: 09:00–17:00.
- Daytime on‑call shift: 09:00–22:00.
- Night shift: 21:00–10:00.
Qualifications
- Tier 2 paediatric doctor (ST4 and above) with an interest in Neonatology.
- Previous experience in Neonates in a closely allied specialty (UK or equivalent).
- Full MRCPCH or equivalent level is highly desirable.
Location & Working Environment
The post is based at the tertiary NICU, New Cross Hospital which has 26 cots. New Cross Hospital is the tertiary referral centre for high‑risk obstetric and neonatal care with over 5000 deliveries per year.
