Job Title: Procurement & Contracts Officer

The City of London Corporation is looking for a Procurement & Contracts Officer to join its Commercial Service. This is a great opportunity for a procurement professional to work in a complex public-sector environment, delivering compliant, high-value and responsible procurement solutions.

Salary and Working Conditions

  • Salary: £38,080 – £42,150 (Grade C) – £44,110 – £49,140 (Grade D) (right candidate may start at D grade)
  • Contractual Hours: 35 hours per week
  • Basis: Permanent
  • Workplace Category: Hybrid

The Role

You will manage procurement activity across one or more categories, supporting departments through the full procurement lifecycle. Acting as a trusted business partner, you’ll provide expert advice, ensure compliance with public procurement regulations, and help deliver value for money while promoting sustainability and ethical sourcing.

  • Act as a trusted business partner, providing expert advice and ensuring compliance with public procurement regulations.
  • Help deliver value for money while promoting sustainability and ethical sourcing.
  • Manage tenders and contracts, analyse spend and market data, support category strategies, maintain procurement systems and report on performance.

About You

  • Experience in a procurement or buying role within a large or complex organisation.
  • Good understanding of UK public procurement legislation, including FTS procedures.
  • Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and engage stakeholders effectively.
  • MCIPS experience welcomed; additional experience in category management and FTS-level procurements is required for Grade D.
