Position Overview
With a starting salary of £55,166.49 per annum, Baxter Thetford is keen to speak with experienced Multi‑skilled Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineers who are looking for a meaningful new role within a fast‑paced team. You will provide plant‑wide reactive and proactive maintenance and support new installations and engineering projects across the site, working rotating shifts Monday – Sunday, 06:00‑18:00 / 18:00‑06:00 with eligibility for overtime at premium rates.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
- Raise corrective and reactive maintenance dockets on Maximo.
- Assist and support queries to identify improvements to the stores system.
- Review planned and preventative maintenance procedures and suggest improvements.
- Advance issues when necessary, in a timely manner.
- Identify areas for improvement across the site.
- Deliver all activities at the standards required by GMP.
Requirements
- HNC or equivalent in Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering.
- High level mechanical knowledge and overall engineering understanding in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- High degree of competency in welding, machine lathe and milling.
- High level working knowledge of gearbox, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Electrical knowledge of control panels, automation and robotics.
- Good level knowledge of electrical safety, CCT and controllers.
- Ability to work as part of a wider team but also to work independently.
