Highly Specialist Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist: Neurosciences and Major Trauma Coordination

We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join the Neurosciences and Major Trauma Rehabilitation Coordination teams as a Band 7 professional. The post holder will be an integral part of the neurosciences team while also contributing to the rehabilitation coordination team, supporting patients throughout the major trauma pathway and may involve community outreach work to support transitions home.

The role involves multidisciplinary collaboration with Allied Health Professionals and major trauma staff, focusing on high‑quality, evidence‑based practice to deliver the best patient experience possible. This position requires 7‑day working with some weekend hours as part of the NHS Tayside service strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Co‑ordinating and delivering physiotherapy or occupational therapy rehabilitation for patients within the neurosciences and major trauma services.
  • Providing expert clinical support and advice to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Facilitating patient transitions from hospital to community settings.
  • Participating in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting staff development and training within the team.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Honours Degree or MSc in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy.
  • Relevant postgraduate training and experience in neurosciences or major trauma rehabilitation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in delivering evidence‑based, patient‑centred care.
