We are looking for a Senior Building Control Business Support Officer to join our Planning & Building Control Service and play a key role in supporting the delivery of an efficient and customer-focused Building Control function.

About The Role

You will be responsible for the administration and processing of Building Control applications and enquiries. You’ll work closely with Building Control officers, customers, solicitors and other internal teams to ensure applications, records and enquiries are managed accurately and efficiently while helping drive service improvements and maintaining high customer service standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring customer satisfaction and supporting service delivery improvements
  • Managing complex administrative processes relating to Building Control applications, dangerous structures and demolition records
  • Responding to solicitor and property history requests
  • Maintaining accurate records and monitoring information
  • Supporting continuous improvement across the service

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
  • Experience leading or supervising staff and motivating a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Confidence working with databases, records management systems and digital processes
  • The ability to identify opportunities for service improvement and implement positive change
  • Technical training or a Building Control qualification (desirable)
