We are looking to expand our bank staffing at UHNM, and we are hoping to recruit an ambitious and proactive Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist who would like to work as part of a friendly, welcoming and experienced Upper Limb Service, who provide care to patient's post-surgery and following trauma to their upper limb, with a special interest in hands. The post sits will support in delivering outpatient rehabilitative care and involvement in the Hand Fracture clinics.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for a Therapist who would like to demonstrate their skills in a speciality area; provide clinical and professional leadership, and deliver essential assessment and treatment to patients in a progressive University Hospital, having strong links with Keele, Coventry and Derby Universities.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for staff with a highly devleped skill set within hand therapy provision that can support the service and provide an excellence of care.

Support will be provided by Principal Therapists and Divisional Therapy Managers, as well as a network of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists within the division.

Qualifications or Equivalent

  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
  • Registered with HCPC
  • CPD relevant to hand therapy and rehabilitation

Skills & Knowledge

  • Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience as an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
  • Experience of audits
  • Experience gained within a hands setting
  • Experience of supporting/supervising staff
  • NHS experience
  • Experience of splinting
  • Trained clinical educator
