Job Title: Director of HR & Administration – UK (Mandarin Speaker)

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full spectrum of HR and administration operations for the UK entity, establishing policies and procedures that comply with both UK employment law and group regulations.
  • Manage organisational structure and headcount control, conduct end-to-end recruitment for senior and core positions, build talent pipelines, and drive employee retention.
  • Handle employee relations, labour disputes, disciplinary actions and termination processes, and conduct exit interviews; ensure full compliance with UK employment law and GDPR, and mitigate legal risks.
  • Take charge of office daily operations, asset procurement, facility and property management, and local vendor coordination.
  • Act as the key liaison between China HQ and the UK local team with fluent Mandarin; deliver bilingual reports and work updates, and coordinate cross-departmental and cross-cultural affairs.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Human Resources, Business Management, Administration, or Law.
  • 8+ years of comprehensive HR and administration management experience, including at least 3 years at director level in a Chinese enterprise based in the UK/Europe.
  • Fluent business English and native or professional-level Mandarin (strictly required) for seamless bilingual communication and senior-level liaison.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment law, tax, pension, GDPR, and immigration rules; familiar with the operational models of overseas Chinese enterprises.
  • Strong capabilities in strategic planning, system building, team leadership, budget control, and risk management; results-driven and able to work under pressure.
  • CIPD qualified and prior experience in liaising with China group HQ is a plus.
