Job Title: Power BI Developer
Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Location: Hybrid working – 3 days per week onsite- Birmingham

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Power BI Developer to join a dynamic organisation on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on turning complex data into meaningful insights and enjoys working across both technical and business-facing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Build and manage ETL processes, ensuring data accuracy and reliability
  • Work with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Develop and optimise SQL queries and data models
  • Integrate data from APIs and multiple data sources into BI solutions
  • Monitor and troubleshoot BI systems, identifying and resolving issues efficiently
  • Deliver end‑user training and support adoption of BI tools
  • Support change, incident, and release management processes

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Power BI Developer
  • Strong background in data warehouse design
  • Expertise in SQL, DAX, Power Query, and SSIS
  • Experience with ETL development and data integration (including APIs)
  • Solid understanding of relational and dimensional data modelling
  • Familiarity with BI technologies, particularly Microsoft Power BI
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes (Change, Incident, Release Management)
  • Awareness of security standards such as NIST and Cyber Essentials
