About the Role
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to internationally leading research and innovation at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital manufacturing, and intelligent industrial systems. The successful candidate will develop innovative solutions in AI‑enabled manufacturing, digital twins, intelligent automation, manufacturing analytics, industrial data systems, and system‑level optimisation. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting high‑quality research and publishing in leading journals and conferences.
- Securing collaborative funding and co‑authored grant proposals.
- Providing postgraduate supervision and contributing to research‑informed teaching.
- Engaging with academic, industrial, and international partners to translate research into real‑world impact.
- Supporting the continued growth of research and innovation across advanced manufacturing, electrification, sustainable production systems, battery manufacturing, and software‑enabled industrial systems.
About You
You will hold a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Robotics, Data Science, Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline. You should demonstrate expertise aligned to Artificial Intelligence for Manufacturing Systems research and the ability, or strong potential, to develop internationally recognised research through publications, collaborative projects, funding activity, and engagement with industrial and academic partners.
