Salary: £13.39 per hour + overtime

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Quality Control Assistant to join a busy operation based in Deeside. This is a hands‑on role focused on maintaining product quality standards, supporting site operations, and ensuring materials meet required specifications before dispatch.

As a Quality Control Assistant, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections on raw materials, in-process items, and finished products, ensuring all quality checks and documentation are completed accurately. The role will involve sorting and examining split loads, grading materials such as paper, cardboard, and plastic, and identifying any non-conforming materials.

You will also be responsible for loading and unloading containers and curtain siders using a forklift truck, rotating stock around site, and maintaining a clean and efficient working environment. Additional duties will include conducting gravimetric testing, liaising with the weighbridge team, carrying out daily equipment checks, and ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.

This role requires someone with a strong eye for detail, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work effectively within a busy operational environment.

Experience / Skills Required

  • Previous Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience is essential
  • Valid FLT licence with practical forklift operating experience is essential
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to identify defects and non-conforming materials
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Reliable with good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • NPORS or similar mobile plant licence is advantageous
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience is required for this role
