About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Counselling Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist or Psychological Therapist in a multi‑disciplinary team that warmly welcomes psychological ideas and practices. We are seeking to appoint a band 7 psychological practitioner to work in the Salford Division at Prescott House Community Mental Health Team. The post holder will be responsible for providing high-quality and evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions for people experiencing mental health problems, including difficulties associated with psychosis, bipolar, trauma and complex emotional relational needs, who access support via the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide evidence‑based psychological assessments and interventions for patients with psychosis, bipolar, trauma and complex relational needs.
- Contribute to the provision of evidence‑based psychological interventions via a specialist hub as the community transformation project develops.
- Undertake (if not already trained) a postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis and Bipolar Disorder and subsequently provide CBT‑P/BD assessments and interventions.
- Deliver or be willing to train in other psychological therapies provided in line with the community transformation project.
- Function as an integral member of the service's multi‑disciplinary team.
- Promote psychological understanding and a trauma‑informed, recovery‑focused service.
- Promote flexible and responsive development of psychologically informed service delivery through direct and indirect work, and liaison with other services within GMMH.

- Organised, able to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure.
- Effective at working collaboratively with individuals and their families/carers to promote independence and recovery.
- Strong initiative and excellent teamwork ability.
- Willingness to be trained in additional evidence‑based therapies to support the Trust's core psychological service offer.
