Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor commercial activities including project planning, risk identification, and financial impact analysis.
  • Review project documentation such as change requests, payment applications, and deliverables to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Assist Project Leaders with project close‑out, ensuring all contractual and legal requirements are met.
  • Support negotiations of commercial and contractual terms with clients.
  • Provide guidance to Project Leaders on project performance, risk mitigation, and claims avoidance.
  • Attend key client meetings to support discussions on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Review project progress against scope, budget, and timelines, identifying variations where required.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to commercial strategy, cost modelling, and work‑winning activities.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a commercial role within the UK, ideally with an international consultancy or main contractor.
  • Professionally qualified in a construction‑related discipline (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related legal qualification).
  • Strong experience negotiating terms of business and supporting dispute resolution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of UK public sector contracts, particularly NEC3/4.
  • Experience developing claims and understanding contractual entitlements.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Ability to draft clear contractual correspondence and support collaborative project solutions.
  • Desirable: RICS / CICES accredited degree or full professional membership.

What’s on Offer:

  • Hybrid working arrangements.
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package (including private medical, life assurance, income protection, and car allowance).
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays, with flexible holiday options.
  • Generous company pension scheme.
  • Flexible benefits such as cycle scheme, dental, optical, travel insurance, and more.
  • Enhanced parental leave policies.
  • Early finish at 3pm on the last Friday of every month.
  • Strong commitment to professional development, including funded memberships for two professional bodies.
  • Supportive, inclusive culture with wellbeing initiatives and social activities.
  • Opportunity to work on major UK and international engineering projects.
