Drayton are leading a search for a Commercial Director to join a growing UK own-label and branded food manufacturing business. This is a senior leadership role with full commercial accountability, reporting into the Managing Director and forming part of the senior leadership team.
The business is part of a broader UK food group and is entering a significant phase of development. The focus is on strengthening commercial performance, building greater structure and discipline, and creating a clear platform for future growth.
The Role
- Full accountability for commercial performance across a growing business
- Leadership of the commercial function, including a team spanning account management and customer strategy
- Ownership of key retail relationships within a predominantly own-label customer base
- Driving revenue growth, margin improvement, and overall customer strategy
- Building a more structured, insight-led and proactive commercial function
- Working closely with operations and group leadership to align commercial and operational priorities
The Person
- Proven commercial leadership experience within own-label food manufacturing
- Strong track record of managing major UK retail customers
- Experience operating at scale, with exposure to complex or multi-site businesses, ideally >£100m revenue
- Commercially and financially astute, with clear ownership of revenue and margin delivery
- Track record of driving change, improving performance, and building capability in teams
- Credible and hands-on leader, comfortable operating at pace within a performance-focused environment
