Product Engineer – Crawley, West Sussex – Up to £45,000

Are you a Product Engineer with broad technical capability who enjoys taking ownership from day one? This Product Engineer role offers autonomy, technical variety, and long‑term security within a growing, employee‑owned engineering business. As a Product Engineer you will work independently on real machinery while collaborating closely with the Technical Director and wider engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing mechanical assemblies, frames, guarding, and machine components
  • Producing 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and Bills of Materials
  • Contributing to electronics design including sensors, interfaces, and basic PCBs
  • Writing, modifying, and debugging basic microcontroller and application software
  • Supporting machine build, testing, commissioning, and technical issue resolution

Qualifications

  • Strong CAD design skills with proven practical design ability
  • Electronics knowledge with the ability to design and implement solutions
  • Basic programming skills and strong problem‑solving fundamentalsThe ability to work across multiple technical disciplines, not just pure design
  • A practical, hands‑on mindset with confidence to take ownership
