The Role

The Data Analyst Apprenticeship role supports the duty to protect and improve health, wellbeing and safety through data and evidence. You will work with a broad range of tasks, from statutory public health intelligence to lifestyle surveys, to help guide investment and programme targeting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or support data analysis, surveys and reports presenting complex findings to diverse audiences
  • Support delivery of statutory public health intelligence, including JSNA, Annual Public Health Report and outbreak response
  • Coordinate Joint Strategic Needs Assessment on behalf of the Health and Wellbeing Board
  • Lead the annual city‑wide wellbeing survey and other lifestyle surveys
  • Conduct deep‑dive analysis on priority areas such as child development and domestic abuse
  • Develop reporting dashboards to support service monitoring for areas such as Environmental Health, Trading Standards and NHS Health Checks

About You

  • Demonstrate ability to understand and interpret statistics and work with data, with an understanding of areas you wish to develop through the apprenticeship
  • Self‑motivated, able to work well within a team, balance organisational workload with study commitments, and complete assignments for the apprenticeship
  • Knowledge and experience of spreadsheets and databases to store and retrieve data
